Welcome Back Picnic (September)
Students and families are invited to bring their dinner to Wines and mingle, play, and meet new and old families in the Wines community!

Wines Walktober (October)
Students and families are encouraged to walk, bike, and scoot their way to school every Friday in October and on International Walk to School Day. Walktober is a great way to learn about pedestrian safety and healthy habits

Run-a-thon (October)
The Run-A-Thon serves as Wines’ largest fundraiser for the PTO. Run-A-Thons are held in October during the school day on the soccer fields with a DJ, prizes and snacks, and each grade takes turns running for a set amount of time. Parents are encouraged to join to cheer on all the students.

Movie Night (October)
New for 2023! A night where parents can have a night off, drop their students at Wines for an evening of snacks, and a fun, free movie watching experience set up in the cafeteria. Kids can wear PJs and bring sleeping bags to sit on to watch the movie.

Great Ideas Grants (Applications due November)
The Great Idea Grants program is an opportunity for Wines students, parents, and staff to turn a great idea into a funded program to benefit the Wines community! The grant approval committee will meet only one time this year to approve grants that can be used anytime during the remainder of the school year.

Science & Builders Fair (November)
The Science & Builders fair encourages students to showcase their amazing talents as they produce great sculptures out of wood, clay, legos, sugar cubes, and other creative materials. Students are also able to show off their inquisitive nature through scientific experiments that they have conducted.

Book Fair (November/December)
The Book Fair is a reading event packed with excitement for students and families. The Book Fair is an annual fundraiser that the PTO organizes to promote literacy, increase classroom libraries, and raise money for school enrichment activities.

International Night (December/January)
International Night is an evening event where students are encouraged to participate by learning about a culture and then sharing facts, food, and other insights with other students, families, and the community.

Lunchtime Extra Specials (Feburuary & March)
Students are able choose from a wide range of activities - legos, yoga, building slime, etc. - to participate in during their lunchtime recess.

Wines Wahoo (February)
There is something for everyone at this tropical celebration with a DJ, face painting, a photo booth, open gym, board games, and crafts! The event is open to all Wines students and their younger siblings.

Wines Auction (April)
The Wines Auction is an amazing, adult only night of mingling with other Wines parents, teachers and staff and fundraising for our Wines community. The event includes a silent auction of exciting items in addition to a live auction of classroom art projects. It also includes fun activities such as the Heads or Tails Game and the Wine Pull.

Teacher Appreciation Week (May)
Teacher Appreciation Week is one way we try to show how much we appreciate the teachers and staff at Wines Elementary.

Science Olympiad (May)
Wines Wildcats from Grades 2-5 participate in the Washtenaw Elementary Science Olympiad (WESO) tournament. Each school team prepares for various events throughout the school year and participates in events at an annual event. Events have been designed to recognize a wide variety of student skills. While some events require knowledge of scientific facts and concepts, others rely on scientific processes, skills, or applications.

Lunches with Love (May)
The children, families, and individuals served by Food Gatherers are in need of ready-to-grab bags. Every year Wines student prepare lunches for those members of our community in need as
a helpful resource for our partner food pantries. -
Wines ROAR! (May)
The Wines ROAR is an end of year celebration filled with food, games, prizes, raffle and a live band!
